Berkshire Hills hopes everyone had a wonderful celebration during
these holidays and wishing you all a wonderful new start to 2014!
Happy New Year!
Such sweet little babies. Eyes newly open and rubbery legs that get them slowly to their destinations. Some are attempting to play with each other but mostly they still spend the majority of time sleeping and nursing!
Millicent’s four bright eyed puppies are 4 days older than Millicent’s eleven sleepy puppies.
Cadence’s puppies left to go to their new homes and Winnie’s are about to go!
Eleanor’s 4 puppies were born last weekend as were Millicent’s 11 puppies!
Cadence and Dashiell’s puppies at 9 weeks:
Winnie’s and Zak’s puppies at 8 weeks:
Eleanor’s and Zak’s 4 day olds:
And Millicent’s and Kiefer’s day olds:
October is always a busy month here at Berkshire Hills.
It really got going when we held our annual puppy reunion! The air was crisp, the leaves were bursting with colors of golden yellow, crimson and orange, the cider donuts and coffee were plentiful and people brought an abundance of home baked goods!
The best part though was seeing so many of my families and their furry babies now all grown up. And as usual dogs, children and adults all mingled, played and made new friends and revisited old ones. Even litter mates found each other!
The beautifully written and photographed book “Another Language” has been chosen by Pearson Educational Publishers for inclusion in the new Core Curriculum (as part of the new curriculum (K-12) mandated by the Obama Administration to be used in public schools all over the United States!!
“Another Language”, written by Jeanne Braham (guardian of our Alice) and photographed by Robert Floyd (guardian to our Kiefer and Tasha) AND features a chapter on BERKSHIRE HILLS AUSTRALIAN LABRADOODLES as therapy and service dogs (!!) along with other incredibly inspiring stories will be used to explore with students the therapeutic bonds between dogs and humans, the ways in which life is a collaborative effort, the need to rethink terms like “disabled”, “different,” “handicapped”.
These are some of Cadence’s most solid puppies yet. I just love their round blocky heads and robust bodies. They are going to be some pretty gorgeous mediums!
Don’t forget to check out our Facebook page to see more photos and stories from our families with one or more Berkshire Hills dogs!
“100 People by 12 Weeks”
“Most important of all is to expose the pups to as wide a variety of people as possible—people of differing ages, sizes, skin color, and dress.” According to AKC.
It is actually quite easy to meet this many people when you have an adorable puppy by your side!
Our puppies leave here at 9 weeks so that gives you, according to this, 3 weeks for your puppy to meet this many people. Fortunately our puppies leave here having met about 40-50 new people!
Just as important is to have your puppy go to many new places. Lately 4 month old Celeste (an Eleanor puppy) and I have been hanging out at cafes, my new summer office!
